Here is the full recipe:
Ingredients:
250g short-grain rice, rinsed
1 medium onion, diced
1 carrot, cubed
4 chicken franks, cubed
4 tbsp vegetable oil
1/4 cup ketchup
3 tbsp light soy sauce
2 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp sugar
Salt, to taste
Sprinkle of furikake (optional)
For the Omelette
4 eggs
1 tbsp shiro dashi
2 tbsp water
———
Steps:
Cook the rice in a rice cooker.
In a hot pan with 2 tbsp oil, sauté onion and carrot until softened.
Add in rice, chicken franks, and sauces. Stir fry until well combined.
Season with salt and sugar to taste.
For the omelette, heat a pan on medium heat and add 1 tbsp of oil.
Beat 2 eggs in a bowl and season with salt.
Pour the egg mixture into the pan and leave to cook gently for 20 seconds.
With a spatula/chopsticks, very slowly pull in the edges of the egg. While the omelette is still slightly runny, slide in on top of the fried rice (the egg will continue to cook for a while more).
Sprinkle furikake on top and enjoy!
