homemade McGriddles - a breakfast favourite you can make easily at home

McGriddles Dupe Recipe
griddle cakes:
200g plain flour
7g baking powder
15g sugar
1 tsp salt
1 egg
300ml milk
30g butter melted + extra
breakfast sausage patty:
400g minced chicken
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried sage
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp paprika
2 tsp cornstarch
Salt and black pepper, to taste
2 tsp maple syrup
3 eggs
400g beef bacon
Maple syrup / maple-flavoured syrup, as needed
directions:
combine the ingredients for the griddle cakes in a bowl and whisk the until well combined, without lumps. once done, pour the maple syrup and let the griddle cake soak in the syrup.
melt butter in a non-stick pan on medium heat and dab the excess with a paper towel. grease an egg mold and place onto a pan. pour a portion of the batter to bout 2 inch thickness. once the bottom is evenly browned, remove the mold and flip onto the other side to cook the griddle cake fully. repeat process for another griddle cake.
combine all the ingredients for the patty and mix well to combine. rest for 30 minutes in the fridge and shape into patties. heat oil in a pan, and sear the patties on both sides until fully cooked.
fry the eggs to desired doneness and crisp up the bacon with a bit of oil.
layer the burger starting with a piece of griddle cake, 2 bacon pieces, a patty and the egg, finishing with the top griddle cake. enjoy!
